Dana & Shawn - Science World Wedding

Dana & Shawn - Science World Wedding

This is a story to defy all theories or apprehensions people may have about meeting on social media. This is a story of boy meets girl, girl meets boy, and then they fall in love.

Dana + Shawn met via the social media dating app Plenty of Fish (or POF for short) back in 2012. They now love to travel together, explore new places, ride bikes around the sea wall as well as camp, and trying various foods. Aside from all of the adventuring, Dana + Shawn are also members of The Vancouver Club. A place to dine, play, relax and connect with other professionals.

This is a wonderful, high end venue. Make sure to check out their engagement shoot images as this is where they were shot.

“We wish to travel lots to many places around the world for the rest of our lives.”

Shawn planned a surprise engagement party for Dana on the roof of the Vancouver Club where he proposed. He invited around 50 of their closest friends and family that joined to witness the special moment.

The ring; an elegant rose gold solitaire. Keeping it traditional yet unique. The bridesmaids dresses’ reflecting the rose gold theme with salmon.

Fast forward to the wedding day. The ceremony itself was held at a very unusual spot. Science World! The bride and bridal party, accompanied by her father spiraled through the Science World halls (a very different isle for sure!) into a large open plan gazebo where guests sat and Shawn waited for his wife to be!

The beautiful branched archway overlooked the harbour front and Vancouver cityscape. Which made for a spectacular view for family and friends.

The event was one to remember! Day turned into night, with celebrations all round. Cake, wine and laughter immersed the crowd as they danced beneath the stars.
