Eliza Sam & Josh - Pre-Wedding at VanDusen Gardens

Hera were lucky enough to be able to photograph Hong Kong actress, TVB star and winner of the 2010 Miss Chinese International Pageant, Eliza Sam on her big day.

Originally born in Vancouver, now in Hong Kong Eliza has starred in many films and TV shows. Known for Special Female Force (2016), Delete My Love (2014) and her most recent film “I love you, Your’re Perfect, Now Change!” - a musical comedy. Eliza and Josh, her now husband decided to make the journey back to Vancouver for their wedding day.

The two originally met each other many years ago from work on TVB but it didn’t really amount to anything until years later, where they met again through a mutual contact. They then became friends, and as their relationship progressed, they became closer. They tried long distance, with Eliza in Hong Kong, Josh in Vancouver, but decided they couldn’t do long distance anymore so Josh decided to move to Hong Kong for her. Now husband and wife!

The ceremony was held at The Fairmont Hotel, they both decided to come along to the studio for some pre-wedding photos; more formal shots prior. Which we’re so happy they did! It really allowed us time and space to capture shots that emphasized the dress which is now one of our most iconic images. We were able to capture some in studio and some on location at the ever so wonderful VanDusen Gardens, one of our favourite and most versatile places to shoot and be creative.

Eliza looking flawless in a low-neck tulle gown from Audella Bridal. The sprinkle of crystallized starry beadings on the sheath fabric gave off a sweet and ethereal feel, while the flattering tulle skirt added a dramatic and feminine vibe. Her beautiful Christian Louboutin wedding heels definitely caught our attention! Beautifully designed with delicate crystals, the heels gave off an elegant, romantic, yet opulent feel to her whole bridal look.

With the studio session, we were able to create a very fun yet classical feel. At Van Dusen, we had the opportunity to have a little more versatility. Dressed down, the couple were able to better express their true selves. Casual, cosy and intimate. The two, very fun and loving. Make sure to take a look at the shots and see for yourself.

We wish you both the best in your future together.
