What is the turnaround time?
Our turnaround time for photography ranges between 2 to 8 weeks. For engagements and weddings that require quicker turnaround time due to next-day receptions or additional events, we have rush edit options at additional cost.
For our films, it ranges between 2 to 16 weeks. Our Wedding Film (1 - 2 Hrs) takes the longest as each hour on location equals to approximately 8 hours in post-production.
do you release raw unedited footage?
We do not release Raw unedited footage. Although Raw files are created during the capture process, the Raw files are not representative of our Hera vision. Through curation, careful selection, edits and final presentation, Hera produces the end products that many love and enjoy. The Raw files are unreleased because they do not represent our work, and at times the Raw files are not viewable unless processed and decoded.
DO YOU USE PHOTOSHOP?
Photoshop is a tool we use to enhance the Hera vision and philosophy. At times we use Photoshop to change perspectives and different aspects of our images. In the Hera Selects, Photoshop is used for skin retouching. Additional beauty-related Photoshop work are available upon request.
How many weddings do you do in a year?
In 2018, Hera covered over 200 weddings in Vancouver BC. During that time, our in-house team grew to 25 members including photographers, videographers and editors. Unlike many studios, our photographers and videographers focuses on just the production end. We operate very similar to traditional production studios where pre-production, production, and post production are all done by separate departments allowing each team to focus on their strengths and passion.
WHO WILL BE ATTENDING OUR WEDDING?
Hera Studios consists of many professional photographers and videographers that are trained to execute the Hera vision. We are unable to guarantee the Hera staff that will attend the weddings. In comparison, traditionally when individual photographers or videographers are sick or unable to attend a scheduled wedding, their partners or “second shooters” will attend the weddings as the lead, usually leading to a lesser product as they’re not equally skilled.
DO YOU HELP IN THE PLANNING PROCESS?
Planning is the most important aspect of what we do. We dig deep to understand the wedding and all the moving parts. In 2017 we launched our very own Wedding Planning department to fulfill this requirement to a higher standard. Planning is an important part of our Pre-Production.
WHAT IF THERE’S BAD WEATHER?
For engagement shoots we usually suggest to reschedule as poor weather can often times affect our shoots and equipment negatively. For weddings, we’re equipped with secondary locations that can offer shade or cover.
